Florida's Real Estate Industry continues to rebound amid the Covid-19 Pandemic

Stevie B's Waterfront Cafe Fort Myers FloridaAs COVID-19 continues to dominate local and national news coverage on a daily basis, some of Florida’s most famous sites and attractions have temporarily shut down. Many beaches are closed, as are bars and other entertainment venues. We’re all in this together as we navigate new changes and challenges to our daily lives.

Collier County beaches are currently closed, as are county-owned beaches in Lee County. Fort Myers Beach closed public parking and public beach access points, while Charlotte County beaches ask for small groups and efforts to comply with recommended social distancing. Other ares in Florida are opening up with guidelines regarding social distatancing.

Like most other industries, the real estate industry has also been adapting to the new challenges as they come. Obviously, this is the time to listen to the experts and take all precautions necessary to limit the spread of the virus. While this is not the time to ignore the advice of medical professionals aiming to keep all of us safe, buyers and sellers in Florida and beyond have every reason to remain confident about the present and future homebuying process, just as our team and other agents remain optimistic themselves.

Bowditch Park Beach Fort Myers BeachReal estate agents are heeding the warnings to use common sense in the home selling and buying process, as are our clients. That’s why you’ll already find that many of us are conducting business perhaps a bit differently. By using common sense and technological advances we’re still able to do our jobs effectively, which is, of course, good news for both buyers and sellers.

With Virtual Showings and Technology Real Estate and Home sales in Florida continue to rise

Thanks to technology, buying and selling a home has never been easier than it is today. We’re already conducting virtual walk-throughs and showings on all properties with a strong commitment to adhere to CDC guidelines. It’s just one way we’re working to keep the home buying and selling process active during this time. We know it’s still important for many families to sell a home right now, just as other families are needing to immediately find a new home to call their own.

Many are taking advantage of a chance in a lifetime, low interest rates, lower real estate and home prices

Florida Interest RatesWhile circumstances beyond our control led to lower than expected interest rates, that in itself can be a real positive for buyers. The urgency across the State of Florida has escalated, people are coming from all over the Country to take advantage of today's low interest rates and real estate market. Both buyer and sellers in Florida are able to negotiate fair prices for housing demands. Many have been on the fence for years thinking that they would eventually retire to Florida, now that many of our clients have learned to work from home and school at home want to be able to take advantage of the year round warm temperatures that Florida residents enjoy.

We’re just as concerned about ensuring personal safety as everyone else. That’s why real estate agents are exercising their own caution, while moving around in a way not to expose, or to be exposed to COVID-19. We’re continuing to learn from this unprecedented life-changing event. As we continue to learn new and creative ways to help our clients we’ll also continue to adapt and strengthen our families moving forward.

A safer way to list, buy and sell properties in Florida

Florida Beachfront Home SearchAs previously stated, the good news for buyers and sellers is that it’s now easier than it’s ever been in history to view and learn more about a property on-line. That’s thanks to some major improvements in listing technology. Virtually everything can be viewed from the comfort of your own home these days, including photos and video tours, floor plans and detailed property descriptions. A buyer can see and learn an incredible amount of information about a property without having to actually visit the home and see it in person first.

While you may not have envisioned spending so much time at home these days, it does perhaps provide more time to see a large number of properties without wasting your time driving around from one location to another. Those interested in buying a home may have already done some on-line research to narrow down specific locations or home styles. Improved listing technology builds on that by delivering an incredible amount of information to buyers seemingly at their fingertips.

Agents, of course, realize that pictures and videos are useful tools in the home buying and selling process, but also that many buyers do really want to see a property in person before signing the paperwork. That’s certainly understandable. Real estate agents want your business and are willing to work hard to make the process work for you.

With the proper precautions taken, including social distancing, agents can still give buyers personal home tours. Simple precautions can help keep everyone safe during a home tour. Agents are more than happy to use alcohol wipes for doorknobs, provide disposable gloves when necessary, have some hand sanitizer readily available and provide everyone the opportunity to wash their hands when they enter and leave a home. These are all simple precautions that, quite frankly, just make sense for all of us.
